Sorry for the delay in replying. I've had a look at your tree. Many thanks for Sarah Albany's second marriage to Charles Plant and James Ives death in 1886. I didn't have either.

One other thing while I remember - the 1881 census has James Ives and Sarah living at 10 Wharf Cottages with sons James, Frederick and Henry. There is also a Thomas Albany, lodger age 20 born Ware. Do you know if this is Sarah's brother? I don't see him as a sibling for Sarah in your tree.

I think you may be missing the following, or you may have chosen not to include it in your GR tree?

James Ives and Sarah Albany's marriage:
St Matthew Upper Clapton, 27 January 1873, James Ives full age, bachelor, labourer, Lea Bridge, father Charles Ives waterman
Sarah Elizabeth Albany, age 19, spinster, Lea Bridge, father William Albany waterman, James made his mark, Sarah signed witnesses G Albany and E S Ives

I also didn't have their first child James b1874 listed. I suspect this is because I worked from the baptism records for this couple rather than the census entries. I think you may be missing two children for this couple -

Ellen Susannah Ives born 12 Feb 1876, baptised 17 Mar 1878 St Matthew Upper Clapton, dies 2Q 1880 age 4, Hackney 1b 251

Sarah Elizabeth Ives born 16 Apr 1884, baptised 22 Dec 1884 St Matthew Upper Clapton. I think her death is at 2Q 1885 age 1, Hackney 1b 289.

I have made a note that there seems to be something amiss with the dates for Sarah. Her birth registration is 4Q 1883, but her birth date on her baptism record is 16 Apr 1844. If the baptism is correct, then there is a barely credible gap between her birth and that of Susan, born 30 Dec 1884.

As to the marriage of James William Ives and Emily Crampton, I think there were two children born to this couple after the 1911 census. BMD shows Walter R T Adams born 1Q 1913 Hackney 1b 729, mother's maiden name Ives, and Joan V Adams born 1Q 1918 Hackney 1b 478, mother's maiden name Ives. There are also two other children born to an Adams with mother's maiden names Ives, but these were registered in West Ham. I think we can discount these because one is 1Q 1913, which would clash with Walter's birth in Hackney, and the other West Ham birth in 1916 must surely be to the same parents as the 1913 one.

My link to the Albany family is also quite remote. James Ives' (1854) parents were Charles Ives and Susannah Iszard. Susannah was my 3x great aunt.

I've opened my tree for you. There may be some detail you might find interesting, although I am a bit behind with it.

Regards

Jan
