Notes about William Charles Cawte

Hi.
I notice that you have Susannah Cawte marrying Charles Joseph Albany in your family tree. Susannah was born Susannah Tinsley, and was the sister of my great grandmother Louisa Bannister, (nee Tinsley). Their parents were Armon Tinsley and his wife Ann(nee Bradford).
Susannah had an interesting life. Her first husband was William Charles Cawte, the son of a Southampton boot and shoe maker. William rose to become the Lt Col in charge of the 5th regiment of General Gordon's modestly named "Ever Victorious Army" which put down the Taiping rebellion in China in the 1860s. He died in Ware two years after marrying Susannah who then went on to marry into the Albany family.
Please let me know if you would like further details of Susannah and her various families and whether you would like to look at my very incomplete family tree on Ancestry.co.uk.
Best wishes
Nick Bannister
