RAF Camp Stoke Orchard April 2nd Dear Mumps! Just received your letter which I say many thanks for, I'm glad you will not object to Enid and I getting married. We have mum discussed it together for quite a while its no hasty plunge, we both know that one day we will marry, so why not now. I know I said after the War, but look at it this way mum. We might as well await then till we can get a home perhaps years to till I'm in a secure job, the RAF is secure, or wait till we are nearly old people before we take a chance. I love Enid mum, there is no doubt in my mind about that and together we will face lives ways. When married only 6d a day is dropped from my pay and I'll make a voluntary allotment to you mum to help you out. In the meanwhile we are saving. There is one thing that will never happen, here I'm speaking of my father. I have seen that mistake and the misery it caused, so long as Enid is happy so will I be. I'll see you soon and we can talk about it more. Renee seems to have had a rotten experience in London. I hope she is none the worse for the experience. Tomorrow is passing out day so I'm for a bit of swotting. Monday we go back to our units. The course here has not been so bad, bit of a bind, but we have made the best of it.
