    At Tarland, on the 20th ult., after a long and protracted illness, Margaret Macpherson, the beloved wife of Alex. Proctor, Esq., watchmaker, in the 67th year of her age. At the same place on the 5th inst., Alexander Proctor, Esq., watchmaker, in the 75th year of his age. Both were justly esteemed, and deeply regretted by a large circle of friends. 'They were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their deaths they were not divided.' 'The memory of the just is blessed.' [Banffshire Journal and General Advertiser - Tuesday 17 May 1859, p.8]

"They were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided". And of their family Thomas, who died in infancy 15th February 1820. David, who died 4th December 1841 aged 25. Alexander, minister of the gospel Addlingston, Berks, England, who died 10th November 1842, aged 30. John, surgeon Towie, who died 4th April 1854, aged 44. Erected by the surviving members of their family.
