From: physica12,
Subject: RE: Your Tree on Ancestry Thanks Brian, I think I have found the link here, but it is not currently on your tree. Jane Cook married Percival Edward Skele Bluett in Greenwich (Mar 1896 - Greenwich 1d 1076). He derives from the Bluett family of Holcombe Court, Holcombe Rogus in Devon. His father was Peter Frederick William Bluett 1849 - 94 (married Gertrude Millicent Warren - born 1852) and his Grandfather was Peter Frederick Bluett who had a brother James Edward Bluett (b 1810) who married Ann Clark - they had a daughter Mary Clarke Bluett in 1839. Mary Clake Bluett married George Winch, a cousin several times removed who became the first Mayor of Chatham, Kent and was involved in the Style and Winch Brewery in Maidstone, Kent. He was also a solicitor and founded Winch and Winch Solicitors in Chatham. He built a house for his wife in Chatham that was the image of her family home at Holcombe Court. All of George and Mary's natural born ( as opposed to adopted) children were given the middle name Bluett. My mother's maiden name was Winch, but we come from the poor branch of the family (Agrucultural labourers, Stokers, Beer House Keepers, Soldiers and Mariners and the like). I hope that this information is helpful in growing your tree. Best regards Andy Freeman (Kent, England)
