Notes about Victor Råst

Nikolaistad was a city that replaced Vaasa, destroyed by fire in 1855 after the warwith Russia. Nikolaistad (Finnish: Nikolainkaupunki), named after the late TsarNicholas I, rose in 1862 about seven kilometres to the northwest from the old townof Vaasa. The town was renamed Vasa (Finnish: Vaasa) after Tsar Nicholas II wasoverthrown in 1917 in the Russian revolution, during which Finland gained itsindependence.
