Atkinson Russell went to talk to the man to ask him to leave her alone. Atkinson was already suffering from 'flu, the doctor had told him to stay in bed but he ignored the doctor's advice and went down to Amelia Street to plead with the man on his sister's behalf. He was dead in twenty-four hours. His niece married the man anyway and it ended unhappily. (I can find no twin daughters in the records, could they have been cousins?)
