Respectfully ury church(pp. 73-74) stated that William Chase came with his parents in 1630 ans was "a child of ill qualitys & a sore affliction to his parents". As "William Chase Jun" he was listed in August 1643 among the Yarmouth men between sixteen and sixty years of age whor from 24 Aug to 2 Sep 1645 and received an extra fee of 5s . In Myles Standish Co. which fought against the Narragansett Indians.d by fire so we don't know the names of his wives or the dates of their marriages. In Descendants of William Chase as early as 1639, the court records say Ed Merrell being sworn deposeth and saith that William Chase (at his return home from the court, when Mr. Matthews and he were together did report that Mr Matthews and he were together did report that Mr. Matthews had nothing to say for himself, and marveled how any durst join him in the fast, and further said that same being in the presence with the magistrate did hold his hand and cry "fie for shame". William Chase had been appointed constable in Jumne proceeding and superseded in September, presumably for the opposition to Mr Matthews. He was subsequently arraigned for his language toward the minister (Mr Matthew) and was censored by the court, ordered to find sureties and to depart the place in six months. Dr Thomas Starr and Mr Andrew Hallett became his sureties, but the orders of the court were never carried out.r after the trouble with Chase, Thomas Starr, Hugh Tilley, Joshus Barnes and William Nicholason were complained of "as scoffeers and jeeeres and making disorders in the town meeting". The plain language of which was that they were opposed to Mr. Matthews, they were called upon to answer to the court but were acquitted, the trouble did not end there.
