Notes about SIR NORMAN Leslie 20th GGF

This Norman Leslie is the Sir Norman de Lesselyn, Chevalier, who signed the Ragman Rolls, and swore fealty to King Edward 1 of England, in Aberdeen on the 15th July 1296. He was also required to sign another document, by King Edward 1, which was a renunciation of, the aulde alliance with France.

Norman Leslie [died before 1320] was married to Elizabeth Leith, heiress of Edengarioch [Douglas Peerage]. or a daughter of Wiseman or Watson heiress of Rothes [Shaw History of Moray] which I believe is how the lands of Rothes came into the Leslie family. James Barrie Leslie
