He was the son of John Tripp and Isabel Moses . John Tripp immigrated in 1630 to Newport, Newport, RI. He was a founder on 30 April 1639 at Aquidneck, Newport, R.I.. He married Mary Paine, daughter of Anthony Paine and ? Susannah Potter, circa 1639 at Portsmouth, Newport, RI; Portsmouth, "Trapp" has Torrey;,m b 1640. John Tripp was resident in 1648 at Providence, RI. He died on 28 October 1678 at Portsmouth, Newport, RI, at age 68; Bigelow has Month, 1678, not 1677. [498] has 1719. His estate was probated on 28 October 1678 at Portsmouth, Newport, RI.
