Rebecca Johanna Werkendam was vanaf 13 juni 1941 werkzaam bij de textielfabriek Hollandia-Kattenburg in Amsterdam. Op woensdag 11 november 1942, omstreeks 16.30 uur, deed de Sicherheitspolizei onder leiding van Willy Lages een inval in de Hollandia-fabrieken.
