    Van de voorzitter
    Een dubbel gevoel….. meestal begin ik mijn stukje met een positieve
    opening en ik was het deze keer ook zeker van plan om deze traditie
    voort te zetten. Niet dat het slecht gaat met onze vereniging maar ik
    moet toch even terugdenken aan maandagavond 9 juni jl. Het
    Nederlands elftal speelt een prachtige partij voetbal tegen Italië en
    ben ervan overtuigd dat we in de finale komen. Vrolijk thuis
    aangekomen besluit ik toch nog maar even de emailbox te openen.
    En opeens is het voetbal en zeker de finale niet belangrijk meer
    omdat er berichten binnen komen dat Kees de Waal op de
    tennisbaan die ochtend een hartinfarct heeft gekregen. De
    medespelers van die ochtend beginnen onmiddellijk met reanimeren
    en de hulpdiensten zijn snel ter plaatse. Kees wordt overgebracht
    naar het ziekenhuis en de daarop volgende dagen heb ik regelmatig
    contact met zijn zoon Bart. De gezondheidssituatie verbetert niet en
    op maandagavond 16 juni krijg ik het trieste bericht dat Kees de Waal
    is overleden. Een dubbelgevoel blijft over mede omdat we juist
    tijdens de laatste bestuursvergadering hadden besloten om meer te
    gaan doen aan preventie maatregelen. Toch wil de dubbelpartners
    van Kees en de omstanders bedanken voor hun inzet en kordate
    optreden die ochtend.
