Geboren am 13. Januar 1722 zu Urach ist er von jungen Jahren an in der Handlungscompagnie aufgewachsen und an ihr groß geworden. Leider haben wir auch von ihm keinerlei persönliche Erinnerungen oder Andenken, ja nicht einmal ein Portrait, was nicht genug zu bedauern ist. Gerade neben seinem Bruder Friedrich Heinrich wäre das besonders wünschenswert gewesen. Er war zweimal verheiratet; das erste Mal mit Carolina Friderica Zech, die ihm zwei Töchter schenkte – Friderica Christiana, die sich später mit dem Rath und Holzfaktor zu Berg Jacob Friedrich Ruoff verheiratete und Elisabetha Christiana, oo mit dem Stadt- und Amtschreiber Karl Christian Moser in Backnang. Die Personalien dieser ersten Frau sind mir leider nicht bekannt, in den Uracher Registern sind keine Einträge zu finden. In zweiter Ehe hat er sich in Stuttgart verheiratet mit Justina Friderica Engel, der Tochter des Leibmedicus Johann Friedrich Engel und der Anna Johanna Fuchs. Vater und Großvater dieses Leibmedicus waren Prokuratoren des Stifts in Tübingen, also recht angesehene Leute.
