Pfarrer in Menden 1744-1782, 1736 Schüler des Gymnasiums in Arnsberg, am 12. August 1742 auf den Titel der Katharinen-Vikarie an St. Kunibert zu Köln geweiht, 1744 wurde er Pfarrer zu Menden und Erzpriester; 1782 zog er sich wegen Alters und Schwächlichkeit auf ein von ihm selbst gestiftetes Benefizium zurück. Nach seinem Totenzettel, der sich auf dem Broich befindet, starb er "nach einer langwierigen Auszehr- und Entkräftung".
Sein Lebensbild findet sich bei Seibertz, Westfälische Beiträge zur Deutschen Geschichte (2. Band; Darmstadt 1823) und ist wiedergegeben in den PFN I. 5.
An der Mauer des Pfarrgartens von Menden befindet sich noch ein eingemauerter Stein mit der Inschrift: "Hunc murum propriis sumptibus erexit ano Die 1746 J.E. Zumbroich, Archipresbyter et Pastor Mendensis" (Kranz, Geschichte der Pfarre Menden; Menden 1930).
