Notes about Unico Ripperda

Drost van Salland.

Hij was heer te Dijkhuizen en Holwierde, en werd in 1537 beleend met Buxbergen, voor welke havezathe hij in dat jaar onder de edelen van Overijssel werd beschreven, de eerste Ripperda in die Ridderschap. Was ook landdrost van Salland. Hij ligt begraven te Wesepe, in ‘t schoutambt Olst. Unico Ripperda gold voor een verstandig en kloek man, doch was wat veel genegen tot den wijn. Als hij te veel gedronken had placht hij warme wijnazijn te drinken, om zijne maag van het overtollige te ontlasten. Doch kon ook sooberlijk leven, seggende op den eenen dagh soude men een osse verteeren, en op den anderen een ey.
