In 1918 wilde Mechtildis trouwen met Karel Elich, maar omdat zij minderjarig was moet de famileraad samenkomen bij de vredesrechter in het Kanton Breda. Op 27 april betaalt Karel de verschuldigde penningen voor de zitting en overlegt twee akten van overlijden van zijn schoonvader Joannes Baptista Seegers en een van zijn vader Frederic Elich ( in het Frans).
