Tijdens WO II hield Adrianus Leonardus in zijn huis, achter de plaat van de haard, voor een groot bedrag aan gouden en zilveren munten verborgen, die van Oom Piet en Tante Cor Despomare uit de Leischestraat in Amsterdam waren. Alida Torsing werkte bij de familie Despomare in de huishouding i.v.m. de ziekte van Adrianus Leonardus (MS). Na de oorlog heeft oom Piet dat geld opgehaald zonder dankjewel te zeggen. Het geld is later terecht gekomen bij mevr. De Liefde, die op de Bredeweg in de Watergraafsmeer woonde in Amsterdam, recht tegenover Albert Welling, de journalist. Mevr. De Liefde had contacten met de familie Despomare. Op een Luilak morgen heeft Paul, de oudste zoon van Albert Welling, een keer met vriendjes de ramen van het huis van deze Mevr. De Liefde met hondenpoep ingesmeerd en daaroverheen kranten geplakt als straf voor het feit dat mevr. De Liefde altijd de bal lek sneed wanneer de jongens bij haar voor de deur voetbalden.
