Joh is het eerste kind uit het huwelijk van Nicolaas Christiaan GerardusBoelrijk en
Petronella Johanna Maria Roovers.
Zij is geboren in de Raamstraat 2 ( wijk 2 ) te Delft.
Hierna wordt het gezin met nog 10 kinderen verblijd.
Totdat Joh begint aan haar opleiding tot verpleegster, heeft Joh haar moeder in de huishouding geholpen.

Joh slaagt op 24 november 1921 voor verpleegster.

In 1928 ging zij als wijkverpleegster werken in Castricum.Dit heeft zij tot haar 60ste jaar gedaan.

Zij heeft o.a. gewoond in de Torenstraat. Na het overlijden van haar ouders is zij in 1947 op de Rijksstraatweg nr 152 gaan wonen..

In het Castricums dagblad stond het volgde:
Op 79 jarige leeftijd is te Delft overleden zr. J.M.M. Boelrijk. Voor de Castricummers, die zich de afgelopen jaren in de forensengemeente hebben gevestigd, zal deze naam geen herinneringen oproepen. Voor de oudere Castricummers des te meer. Zr. Boelrijk heeft namelijk vanaf 1928 de wijkverpleging in Castricum verzorgd. Zij stond velen bij bij ziekte, overlijden en geboorte. Jarenlang heeft zij samengewerkt met de arts Leenaers. Negentien jaar geleden droeg zij haar werkzaamheden over aan anderen, om zelf van een welverdiende levensavond te gaan genieten.
