Notes about Johan de Gruter

Leenheer van Oud-Kell 1501.
Genaamd van Eemden of van Emen. Hij zich noemende Johan van Eemden, Leenheer en bezitter van den Leenhof Oud-Kell, beleent, na dode van Johan Momm van Kell, Herman Velinck ten behoeve der stad Doetinchem (als schuldeischeres van den overleden Johan Momm van Kell) met het Huis Kell (Groot Kell) en toebehoren, 15-02-1501. Idem zich noemende Johan van Emen, beleent Werner Elferdinck als schuldeischer van den overleden Johan Momm van Kell met het Huis Kell, namelijk in pandschap voor eene som van 1450 goudguldens, 1501. Waarschijnlijk was hij van wege den Bisschop van Utrecht castellanus van het Kasteel van Eem in Utrecht en noemde hij zich daarnaar van Eemden of Emen. Hij is waarschijnlijk de zelfde Jan Gruter, Burgemeester te Doesborch, die met eenige burgers aldaar een burcht voor die stad vermeestert, 1537. Hij, Jan van Eeme genaamd, is in de Ridderschap van Veluwe, compareert op den Landdag, 1539 en staat op 1ste Riddercedule.
