was vaste "kruisdrager" (Christus met zijn kruis op weg naar de kalvarieberg) tijdens de processies in Halle

- anekdote verteld door zijn dochter Marie-Louise: tijdens een processie begon het hevig te stortregenen en Henri bevond zich met zijn kruis in de Basiliekstraat ter hoogte van de Maandagmarkt - om te schuilen vond hij er niet beter op dan met zijn kruis binnen te vluchten in de "Peuple", het stamcafe; van de socialisten - ze durfden hem daar niet buiten zetten; zijn baas in de post was een fervente CVP-er en die vond dit zo geweldig dat Henri die maandag een dag extra verlog kreeg "om eens goed uit te rusten"!

- nog een anekdote: op de dag van de Brugse Bloedprocessie werd zijn evenknie in die processie ziek - via de hogere kerkelijke instanties kwammen bij Henri terecht met de vraag of hij wou inspringen in Brugge - hij werd met de taxi naar Brugge gevoerd, deed de processie (met een speciale begeleider die moest zeggen waar hij moest "vallen" onder zijn kruis), kreeg na afloop een diner aangeboden en werd dan met de taxi terug naar huis gebracht
