Het feit dat van Bernardina Kerkdeur de vader zowel als de moeder onbekend is (.....dit heb ik na 30 jaar genealogie m.b.t. meer dan 10.000 personen nod niet eerder meegmaakt) gekoppeld aan de uiterst merkwaardige naam "Kerkdeur" doet mij vermoeden dat het hier om een vondeling gaat. (het kwam namelijk vaker voor dat men vondelingen de naam gaf naar een omstandigheid waarin het kindje werd gevonden. Iemand die zijn baby om welke reden dan ook niet kon/kan opvoeden legt het kindje vaak op een plaats waar er goede kans was om het te vinden....in de buurt van een kerk dus een "goede" plek) Niet bewezen maar zeer waarschijnlijk een feit.
