    Ruim 70 jaar oud is hier ter stede overleden de heer W.P. Mindeman, oud-hoofd eener school. De verassching zal Zaterdag a.s. geschieden na aankomst van den trein van 14.14 uur te Westerveld.

    Gistermiddag is in het crematorium te Velsen onder zeer veel belangstelling, de verassching geschied van het stoffelijk overschot van den heer W.P. Minderman, oud-hoofd eener school alhier. Veel oud-collega's, vrienden en vooral velen uit vrijmetselaarskringen, woonden de plechtigheid bij. Naar den wensch van den overledene voerde alleen de voorzittend meester der Loge Frederic in den Haag het woord, die den overledene herdacht als een man van groote bescheidenheid, die nergens, ook niet in de loge, op den voorgrond wilde treden. Niettemin was hij een man met groote talenten en om zijn hartelijkheid en vriendschap zeer bemind. Spr legde de handschoenen van den overledene en drie witte rozen op de baar. Nadat de kist gedaald was, waarbij de organist "In diesen Heiligen Hallen" uit Die Zauberflote van Mozart speelde, dankte een zoon voor de belangstelling.

    De verassching zal plaats hebben Zaterdag a.s. in het Crematorium te Velsen na aankomst van trein 14.14 halte Driehuis-Westerveld. Eenige kennisgeving.

Tekst krantenartikel in Het Vaderland van maandag 29 october 1934 avondblad (mijn dossiernummer Mi-142): Afscheid W.P. Minderman.
Zaterdagochtend heeft de heer W.P. Minderman, hoofd der school aan de Koningin Emmakade 121, afscheid genomen, na het openbaar onderwijs gedurende 45 jaar in verschillende betrekkingen te hebben gediend. Namens B. en W. heeft de chef der afdeeling Onderwijs dr v.d. Berg den scheidenden hoofdonderwijzer toegesproken en hem dank gebracht voor het vele, dat de heer Minderman voor het onderwijs hier ter stede heeft gedaan. Spr. overhandigde hem een brief van den wethouder van Onderwijs. De heer Pattist huldigde den heer Minderman, als onderwijsman, wiens vele verdiensten hij in het licht stelde. Mevrouw Klooster, gemeentelijk inspectrice van het Onderwijs, dankte den heer Minderman voor de prettige samenwerking en bood hem een ets aan. Vervolgens werd nog het woord gevoerd door een der leden van de Oudercommissie, die hem een boekwerk aanbood en namens het personeel door den heer van 't Pad en van der Swan namens het oud-personeel. Ook namens de leden van het personeel en oud-personeel werd den heer Minderman een fraai cadeau aangeboden. De heer Minderman dankte allen voor de hem gebrachte hulde en voor de mooie geschenken.
