In 1547 heeft Johan een rechtzaak met Albert Claes over een erfenis.
In 1548 getuigt ene Hynrick Alcken voor Clawes Frese, Drost zu Leerort , 20 jaar lang knecht geweest te zijn, eerst bij Johan Frese en daarna bij Johan Coepers beiden te Roswinkel. Waarna hij (voor 24 jaar) uit Roswinkel vertrok. Johan Frese was dus in 1504 boer te Roswinkel.
