    Johannes Minnekus den Heijer werd op 5 mei 1906 geboren in Den Haag als zoon van Johannes Minnekus den Heijer en Johanna Biever. Hij was getrouwd met Antonia Anna Kruis. Van beroep was hij timmerman.
    Aan het eind van de oorlog werd hij bij een razzia opgepakt en naar Kamp Rees afgevoerd. Vandaar werd hij ziek en verzwakt overgebracht naar het noodhospitaal in het Patersklooster te 's-Heerenberg, waar hij op 1 maart 1945 op 38-jarige leeftijd overleed.
    Hij werd begraven op het NH kerkhof te 's-Heerenberg en in 1955 herbegraven op het Ereveld Loenen, vak C nummer 22, naast F.J.P. Kurtz. Zijn overlijden is al op 1 maart 1945, de dag van zijn dood, aangegeven in de gemeente Bergh en op 7 augustus 1945 in de gemeente Den Haag
