De heer W. Ziengs, 1e ambtenaar ter secretarie van IJlst, slaagde voor het diploma B archiefverzorging der overheidsdocumentatie.

Artikel in de Leeuwarder Courant van 24 juni 1970 (mijn dossiernummer Zi-15):
W. Ziengs wordt nieuwe gemeentesecretaris Bolsward.
Met algemene stemmen heeft de gemeenteraad van Bolsward gister de heer W. Ziengs, hoofdcommies en loco-secretaris op de secretarie, benoemd tot gemeentesecretaris. De heer Ziengs zal op 2 januari volgend jaar de heer D. Sandstra, die met pensioen gaat, opvolgen. De discussie over de voordracht van burgemeester en wethouders was maar kort; er werd zelfs niet in een besloten zitting over gepraat. Uit informatie bleek dat de raad vorige week al geruime tijd
zonder publiek over de nieuwe secretaris had gepraat. De voordracht van het college bestond uit twee mensen van het eigen personeel. Als eerste wend heer Ziengs
genoemd en als tweede gemeente-ontvanger S. J. Dokkum. De raadsleden waren over het algemeen ingenomen met de mogelijkheid een opvolger uit het eigen personeel te benoemen, hoewel - en dat gaf burgemeester J. M. A. Mulder toe - het gebruikelijk is dat voor de vervulling van dit soort functies een oproep in de kranten wordt geplaatst. De heer Ziengs is al bijna tien jaar werkzaam op de secretarie van Bolsward. Hij is 43 jaar oud en afkomstig uit de Drentse plaats Exloo.
