Notes about Abraham de Leeuw

Abraham de Leeuw woonde met vrouw en twee kinderen aan de Prinsengracht 482 te Amsterdam. Hij was advocaat en procureur. Abraham de Leeuw is op 7 november 1942 door de rechercheurs Jan van der Hoek en Tjeerd de Vries van het Bureau Joodse Zaken van de Amsterdamse politie gearresteerd omdat hij goederen had ondergebracht bij de niet-jood Pieter van der Berg. De goederen werden in beslag genomen. Abraham de Leeuw werd op 12 november 1942 aan de SD overgeleverd.

In het archief van de Stichting Sieraden-Comité zijn verschillende documenten bewaard:
-een verklaring d.d. 7 november 1942 van de rechercheurs De Vries en Van der Hoek inzake de arrestatie van Abraham de Leeuw;
-een verklaring d.d. 9 november 1942 van de rechercheurs De Vries en Van der Hoek met een opgave van de sieraden die zij in beslag hebben genomen;
-idem van de overige goederen die zij in beslag hebben genomen.

In de inventaris worden onder meer genoemd drie schoenendozen met bloedkoralen en vijf complete postzegelalbums.

De echtgenote en kinderen van Abraham de Leeuw overleefden de oorlog.

In het archief van de Stichting Sieraden-Comité liggen verder nog lijsten van de geroofde goederen, een handgeschreven verklaring uit 1964 en een verklaring van erfrecht.
