(plus minus 1923) Het blijkt echter dat hij dit niet had mogen doen vanwege zijn contract met Biltz. Bernard gaat failliet, er komt zelfs een openbare verkoping van alle bezittingen. Geen nood de buren zetten de straat af zodat er geen opkopers konden komen en kochten alles op voor een appel en ei en zo behielden ze al hun spullen.
