De krant op 18 juni 1946: Rehabilitatie Albert Faber. Dinsdag 28 Mei werd op het kerkhof te Huizum bij Leeuwarden herbegraven het stoffelijk overschot van Albert Faber, gewoond hebbende te Austerlitz.
Toen in Mei 1940 de Duitschers ons land binnenvielen, streed Albert Faber met verbeten woede tegen den overmachtigen vijand. En na de capitulatie zette hij den strijd op zijn manier voort, hij werd spion. Gehuld in de Duitsche uniform werd hij chauffeur, maar stootte daardoor alle bekenden van zich af, zelfs zijn eigen familie.
Door zijn toedoen werden 20 treinen vernield, talloze auto-transporten gebombardeerd, enz. tot hij op 27 november
’44 werd gegrepen door de Duitschers en op 17 december te Diemen werd gefusilleerd. Hij is gevallen voor zijn vaderland. Langzamerhand is de sluier, die over dit leven lag, opgelicht en is zijn
nagedachtenis van alle blaam gezuiverd. Voor zijn weduwe en kinderen was dit een grootte troost.
