Landmeters geadmitteerd (= toegelaten) door het Hof van Friesland 1616-1811

Landmeter.
Van overheidswege toegelaten vrije ambtenaar. Men kon te Franeker ook voor landmeter studeren. Zo heeft B. Fullenius velen 'geometriae candidatus' gemaakt. Een commissaris van het Hof van Friesland examineerde mee. De admissies van alle landmeters zijn bewaard gebleven. Er kwamen er te veel. Zo ziet men hen optreden als notaris, procureur, hardhouwer, plattelandssecretaris of -ontvanger, schoolmeester, meester-timmerman enz. Als mathematicus berekende een landmeter almanakken. Verschillende landmeters worden met ere genoemd. Zo Joh. Sems, S. Gravius, S.H. Haacma.
