Notes about Johanna Catharina Schardam

Zoals verschillende van zijn nazaten was Willem Klots chirurgijn (in later tijd werd dit beroep meestal aangeduid met de term 'heelmeester'). Hij oefende zijn beroep uit te Spaarndam, alwaar hij ook zijn vrouw ontmoette, die daar geboren werd als dochter van de plaatselijke predikant. Kerkelijk gezien was Willem Klots ook aktief, aangezien hij zowel kerkmeester als ouderling van Spaarnwoude en Spaarndam is geweest.

Bij het overlijden van Willem Klots werd een memorie van aangifte voor de successiebelasting opgemaakt, waarin verklaard werd dat hij zonder onroerende goederen na te laten was overleden te Spaarndam. Hij maakte een mutueel testament met zijn echtgenote voor notaris Jacob Elout op 14 april 1772; aangezien de kinderen Hester Elisabeth Klots, Johannes Klots en Sara Klots afstand hebben gedaan van hun recht bij akte voor de Rechtbank van eerste aanleg te Haarlem van 4 jan. 1819 viel de nalatenschap geheel toe aan de weduwe en de zoon Frederik Hendrik Klots te Westzaan.28

Na het overlijden van Johanna Catharina Schardam, weduwe van Willem Klots, werd eveneens een dergelijke verklaring opgemaakt, waaruit bleek dat ook zij zonder onroerende goederen na te laten was overleden. De kinderen Hester Elizabeth Klots, gesepareerde huisvrouw van Jan Wilhelmus van der Noordaa, te Spaarndam, Johannes Klots te Spaarndam, en Sara Klots, echtgenote van Johanaes Schardam, te Hensbroek, hadden bij akte van 22 okt. 1822 voor de Rechtbank van eerste aanleg te Haarlem afstand gedaan van hun rechten, zodat de gehele nalatenschap toekwam aan Frederik Hendrik Klots, chirurgijn te Westzaan.29
