Hij was bevriend met Jan Walig en Cornelis Corf (andere commandeuren uit Den Helder).

De Eensgezindheid was een schip van rederij Ebmeyer uit Zaandam. Het schip is rond 1798 door Engelsen onderschept en verkocht. Cornelis Clorn uit Den Helder was toen commandeur. Bron: Cultuurgeschiedenis van de Lage Landen (deel VIII), pag 276 in de uitgave van 1971.
