Eens werd ik het eerst geboren en nu ik mijn vader heb verloren ben ik de oudste van de hele familie Wit,
als het gaat op het oude wijsje sta ik bovenaan op het lijstje
en ben de eerste die dan in mijn kistje zit.
Als dat dan eens zal gebeuren, moet je er heus maar niet om treuren
want dat is toch de loop van de natuur,
al wil je kapitalen geven
je kan toch niet langer leven,
want voor ieder slaat toch eens zijn laatste uur.

En het ging zoals hij voorspelde.
