Geert Egberts Basuin, geboren circa 1704 op Den Kaat, trouwt op 24 april 1728 als jongeman “van den Kaeten” met Jantje Geuchies, dochter van Geuchien Jans en Roelofje Jacobs van Basuin (Bezoen) in IJhorst en stiefdochter van Geert Egberts’ broer Willem Egberts Westerhuis. Na zijn huwelijk trekt hij in op de boerderij Bezoen (Basuijn) van zijn schoonfamilie in IJhorst. Op 2 december 1755 is hij een van de mombers over de kinderen van zijn broer Hendrik Egberts. Uit hen komt een geslacht Van Bezoen in IJhorst voort.
