Nog een keer getrouwd met Maria Antonetta Meisers?? achternaam moeder in 1e 2 doopakts van kinderen is anders. 

Hoewel niet vaststaat welk beroep Johan Jacob uitoefende, zou het kunnen zijn dat dit het beroep van horlogemaker zou kunnen zijn. Er zijn hiervoor een tweetal aanwijzingen.Ten eerste weten we dat zijn zoon Johan Conrad, zijn kleinzoon George Koenraad en zijn achterkleinzoons Willem Johan en Jacoba Eliza Francois allen horlogemakers waren. Ten tweede is bekend uit het rechterlijk archief van Nijmegen dat er een proces-dossier uit 1750 bestaat betreffende een zaak van Leeman Marcus Gompers contra J.J.Eger (inv.585). Het geschil betrof een gekocht horlogie. Zou het hier inderdaad om Johan Jacob Eger gaan, dan zou voorzichtig geconcludeerd mogen worden dat horlogemaker zijn beroep is geweest

in een verklaring dd 1779 word ook bevestigd dat er nog maar 4 kinderen in leven zijn .  Dit heeft te maken met het verkoop van een huis en erf in Dusseldorf.
