Op 23 juni 1913 werd de weg bij de Brinkstraat gevoegd en op 29 mei 1936 werd de in voormalig Lonneker gelegen en als "Brinkweg" aangeduide weg tot de Zuid Esmarkerondweg eveneens bij de Brinkstraat gevoegd; voor het overige in die gemeente gelegen gedeelte werd de naam "Roodmolenweg" vastgesteld.
