Hendrik Willem Alma, geb. Bergum 19 mei 1829, vertrok in dec. 1851 naar Marseille waar hij op een handelskantoor werkzaam was, werd in 1855 benoemd tot vice-consul en in 1859 tot consul der Nederlanden te Marseille, was ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw, officier in de Orde van de Eikenkroon, ridder van het Legioen van Eer, van de Frans-Jozeph Orde van Oostenrijk en van de Danebrogsorde, † Marseille 25 maart 1894.
