Op foto 3 Kees samen achter hun huis op de Lagedijk in Zaandijk, samen met Debora.

Cornelis en Debora waren enthousiaste zeilers en met de mogelijkheid om achter het huis aan de Zaan in Zaandijk een zeilboot te kunnen neerleggen, heeft Cornelis in 1949 de regenboog nr 79 gekocht, samen met zijn zoon Jan. De vorige eigenaar was E.L. Schiff te Den Haag, die eigenaar is geweest vanaf 1942, toen de boot bij G. de Vries Lentsch Jr te Amsterdam was gebouwd.
Tot 1957 is de boot van de Waligen geweest en is in dat jaar door brand, bij de jachthaven Dubbeld in Oost-Knollendam, verwoest.
Cornelis heeft toen de regenboog nr 83 gekocht,die door de zelfde bouwer was gemaakt in 1943. Tot 1970 is deze eigendom van Cornelis Walijg geweest en toen over gegaan in eigendom van Jan Walig, zijn zoon. Jan heeft de boot in 1976 verkocht aan J.H.F. van der Meer in Zaandam.
