Gezin Jacob Keesing Door: Delen Jacob Keesing was een zoon van Tobie Israel Keesing en Elisabeth Zeehandelaar. Op 16 december 1930 trouwde hij met Esperance Peekel, dochter van Levie Peekel en Femmetje de Roode. Jacob was van beroep Meubelhandelaar. Later kwam hij te werken in het familiebedrijf 'Uitgeverij Keesing' dat werd geleid door zijn broer. Jacob kreeg de leiding over de Belgische vestiging van de uitgeverij. Jacob en Esperance woonden aan de Ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam. Daar woonden zij samen met Suzanne en Marianne Keesing, twee halfzusters van Jacob (beide kinderen van Tobie Israel Keesing en Henriette Italiaander). De vier bewoners vormden een hechte familie. Reeds in de jaren '30 vreesde het viertal het virulente antisemitisme van de nazi's. Op de dag van de Duitse inval hebben zij dadelijk geprobeerd om naar Engeland te ontkomen. Op het strand van IJmuiden lukte het echter niet om een schip te vinden dat hen kon meenemen. Het viertal huurde een kamer aan de Velserduinweg. Daar pleegden zij op 14 mei 1940 zelfmoord door verstikking.
