Oude benaming "Bothof" en volgens besluit van 14 augustus 1889 voormalig Enschede ook Bothofsteeg. De door de Raad van voormalig Lonneker d.d. 4 maart 1929 vastgestelde naam Verlengde Lage Bothofstraat voor het gedeelte, lopende van de Oostveenweg tot de Lipperkerkstraat, is door het besluit van 29 mei 1936 vervallen.
