    Ytje Jelles is een dochter van Jelle Jurjens. Zij wordt in 1717 geboren als haar vader uit de Oostzee op de terugweg is met zijn schip naar De Republiek, bezig met zijn laatste zeereis.
    Zij groeit op in Woudsend, met een ondernemende vader "aan de wal".
    Zij trouwt in 1739 met schipperszoon Lolle Sijmens uit Woudsend. Ze betrekken en runnen de boerderij in Ypecolsga, die sinds 1738 eigendom is van Jelle Jurjens. Ytje zal deze boerderij in 1750 van hem erven.
    Het huwelijk van Ytje Jelles en Lolle Sijmens blijft kinderloos.
    Broer Haring Jelles Nauta vernoemt in 1764 zijn derde zoon (Lolle Harings) naar Lolle Sijmens, die mede daardoor een speciale band met zijn oom en tante zal krijgen.
    Ytje zal haar neef Lolle met raad en daad bijstaan in de tijd dat hij geld nodig heeft om aandelen in zijn kofschip te verwerven.
    Ytje Jelles benoemt neef Lolle tot haar enige erfgenaam, maar dat heeft wat haken en ogen.
    Ze overlijdt in 1798
