In het Huwelijkscontract van Freerk Arents Vos met Abeltje Eltjes, staat duidelijk Vos achter zijn naam, al staat het geschreven op zijn Duits met een ringel S ( Voß ). Het contract is inhoudelijk slecht te ontcijferen en kan een combinatie zijn van Nederlands met Duitse invloeden en misschien nog Latijnse woorden geschreven zijn, omdat vroeger de Huwelijkscontracten ook door de Pastor werd geschreven en toen noch niet door bv een Notaris.
Dit is in de geschiedenis de eerste vorm van Vos die ik in de boeken gevonden heb.
