Notes about Rodolphus van Bosinchem

Rodolphus was ridder. De Van Bosinchems, in tegenstelling tot de oostelijk aan hun land grenzende - en later ook verwante - heren van Buren, die tot de nobiles behoorden, naar hun afkomst, voor zover ons oog in de documenten terug kan reiken, hebben slechts tot de stand der dienstmannen. Het is goed denkbaar dat de heren van Bosinchem afstammen van een zekere Gerbrant, eerste heer van Bosinchem en Zoelen, die een jongere broeder was van Hendrick graaf van Teysterbant en getrouwd was met een dochter van Gerlacus heer van Pont, voogd van Gelre. Beide echtelieden zouden in 935 overleden en begraven zijn in de St. Walburgkerk te Tiel.
