Notes about Fulco I V (de Norse) van Anjou

Fulco IV van Anjou, bijgenaamd de Norse (Anjou, 1043 - Angers, 4 april 1109) was een zoon van Ermengarde van Anjou en Godfried II van Gâtinais. Hij was graaf van Anjou van 1068 tot 1109. Hij volgde zijn broer Godfried op die afgezet was wegens zijn vijandige houding tegenover de kerk. Fulco huwde in 1070 met Ermengarde van Bourbon, vervolgens met Hildegarde de Beaugency en met Mantia, de dochter van Wouter I van Brienne en in 1089 met Bertrada (1070-1117), dochter van Simon I van Montfort. Uit dit laatste huwelijk wordt de latere graaf Fulco V van Anjou geboren. Uit het huwelijk met Hildegarde werd een dochter Ermengarde (1067-1147) geboren. Die huwelijkte hij uit aan de hertog van Bretagne, Alan Fergent, om met Bretagne een alliantie tegen hertog Willem II van Normandië te vormen. In de oorlog tegen Bretagne verliest hij Maine en moet vervolgens het hoofd bieden tegen de revolte van zijn zoon Godfried Martel (-1106) en zijn baronnen.
