Notes about Mieke (ook Maria) Tempel

In 1896 komt Hendrik Veltmeijer nog een tweede keer voor in een klapper op naam van veroordeelden van de Arrondissementsrechtbank in Amsterdam. Ditmaal samen met zijn vrouw Mieke Tempel. Op 25 september 1896 is in Hilversum proces-verbaal opgemaakt, op 8 december 1896 is de dagvaarding aan hen betekend. Hendrik is dan koopman van beroep en wonend in Bussum. Zij worden verdacht van mishandeling. De officier eist tegen Hendrik Veltmeijer 14 dagen en tegen Mieke Tempel 8 dagen gevangenisstraf. Uit de overwegingen blijkt dat de mishandeling heeft plaatsgehad op 21 september 1896 aan het Achterom in Hilversum. Hendrik Veltmeijer heeft het slachtoffer met een stuk hout / een lat moedwillig en gewelddadig verscheidene slagen op het hoofd toegebracht. Mieke Tempel heeft dit ook gedaan, alleen is bij haar geen sprake van verscheidene slagen. Op 24 december worden zij conform de eis veroordeeld tot respectievelijk veertien en acht dagen gevangenisstraf.
