Eduard werd het vierde kind van JOHANN FELIX LAMPE en MARIA ANNA ENTE die in totaal 8 kinderen hadden. Hij is geboren in Leeuwarden op 24-3-1874 en daar overleden op 11-1-1950. Johan Felix begon op 10-7-1870 in Leeuwarden – nadat hij eerst rondreizend koopman was geweest –, samen met een compagnon een textielgroothandel onder de naam J.F. Lampe & Co. Alhoewel Johann Felix 4 zonen had, waarvan er één overleden is op éénjarige leeftijd, zou geen van heb hem opvolgen in de zaak. De zaak is voortgezet door zijn jongere broer Gerhard Hugo en diens opvolgers tot in 1963, toen de zaak door gebrek aan opvolgers is opgeheven.

Eduard kan als één van de laatste Tüötten genoemd worden, hij was in feite “reizend koopman”. Hij is 40 jaar lang met zijn waren door Twente getrokken en kwam daarbij twee keer per jaar naar Losser. Hier had hij een opslagplaats in het vroegere postkantoor aan de Driehoekstraat, ook wel genoemd het Schoolstraatje, wat inmiddels is afgebroken. In dit gedeelte van het oude dorp is nu de parkeerplaats aan de Langenkamp. Deze opslagplaats werd ook als winkel gebruikt die met name op de zondagmiddag, na de mis, geopend was. Hij verkocht onder andere manufacturen, wollen dekens en kamgaren stoffen.
