Thom de Klerk was een Nederlandse fagottist, fagotbouwer, rietenmaker en dirigent. De Klerk was de eerste solofagottist van het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest van 1935 tot en met 1966. Hij vierde triomfen met Willem Mengelberg, Eduard van Beinum en Bernard Haitink. Gastdirigenten, zoals Eugen Jochum, Arturo Toscanini en Pierre Monteux, vroegen speciaal om zijn aanwezigheid in het orkest.
Thom heeft aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag gestudeerd bij Jacq. Poons. Poons kon zijn studenten uren achtereen toonladders laten studeren. Andere leerlingen van Poons waren David Meyer en Louis Stotijn, die beiden later solofagottist in het Residentie Orkest werden. In 1935 werd De Klerk, 23 jaar oud, aangesteld als eerste solofagottist van het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest in Amsterdam onder Mengelberg.
