    AMSTERDAM, 12 JULI. De Amsterdamse modeontwerpster en coupeuse Josje Leeger is op 47-jarige leeftijd overleden.
    Leeger kwam via Ibiza in Londen terecht, waar ze samen met Simon Posthuma en Marijke Kooger deel ging uitmaken van het groepje The Fool, dat in 1968 de Apple-boetiek van de Beatles in Baker Street, Londen van schilderingen voorzag. Ook beschilderden zij de Rolls Royce van John Lennon in flower-powerstijl. Het drietal ontwierp tevens kleding voor de boetiek. Leeger was bij het ontwerpen en maken van kleding vooral vakkundig in het coupeerwerk. Zij trouwde met Barry Finch en verhuisde naar LosAngeles, waar ze zes kinderen kregen. Enkele jaren geleden keerde ze terug naar Amsterdam. Leeger is vanmiddag in Amsterdam gecremeerd.
