Pieter Veth en Wilhelmina van Meurs verhuizen in 1930 van Rotterdam naar Schiedam. Zij wonen daar kort op het Herenpad en daarna op Snelliussingel 24 C. Zij wonen vanaf 1933 op Havenstraat 11 A (Delfshaven) in Rotterdam. Pieter begint als jongen op de grote vaart. Als hij in 1925 trouwt is hij matroos op de koopvaardij. Pieter is volgens het bevolkingsregister van Rotterdam (ook) conducteur bij de RET. Zijn kleinzoon Kees Waals schrijft in een e-mail in 2024 dat zijn opa in de oorlog parlevinker is, dat de Duitsers hem zijn boot afnemen en dat hij vervolgens tot zijn pensioen buschauffeur bij de RET is. Pieter is volgens zijn kleinzoon een energieke en ondernemende man. Hij overlijdt in 1970 onverwacht na een hartinfarct.
