Later was Gerrit directeur van de firma "NV. v/h Haafkens en Versloot". deze firma bevond aan het Gerard Douplein 24 in Amsterdam Zuid. De firmanten waren rossiers in suikerwerken (Een Dirk Bongenaar was op 7.5.1902 in Amsterdam met ene Anna Elisabeth Haafkens getrouwd. En ene mr. -- Bongenaar heeft een groot advocaten- en notarisbureau aan het Frederik Hendrik plantsoen)
Boven het bedrijf heeft toevalligerwijs later Frederik Paulus Versloot (*1917) gewoond.
Volgens informatie van Gerrit Versloot (G.09.931) woonde zijn grootvader Gerrit (G.05.876) in het huis waar nu Hotel de Veenen staat op de Ouderkerkerlaan. Dit huis heette vroeger huize Anna. (of Helena)
Gerrit benam zich het leven op 11-6-1936

Hij was kruidenier, medevennoot grossierderij in chocolade en suikerwerken (Haafkens en Versloot).
Chef werkplaats was Jan Koudijs (trouwde later met Gijsje Bertha Versloot). Zijn broer Kees trouwde met Anna Christina Versloot.

Woonde eerst in Amstelveen (waar nu Hotel Veenen staat) Op het eind van zijn leven aan het Merwedeplein in Amsterdam,

(Een Dirk Bongenaar was op 7-5-1902 in Amsterdam, met een Anna Elisabeth Haafkens getrouwd).
