Notes about Leonardus Vervenne
Onze overgrootvader Leonard die briefdrager was, is op een winteravond dronken thuis gekomen. Hij mocht van zijn vrouw Juliana niet in huis en besloot toen maar in de schuur te slapen. Het gevolg was een longontsteking waaraan hij 3 weken later bezweek. Zijn vrouw vol spijt en met veel schuldgevoelens trok zich dit zeer aan, werd ziek en stierf enige tijd later. Bij het overlijden van moeder Juliana werden, behalve Pelagie, alle kinderen gehuisvest bij Maria Vervenne, de zus van Leonard. Onze gemeenschappelijke stamvader had 6 kinderen: - Edmond (°2 augustus 1881) - Adolphe (°2 augustus 1881) - Henri (°16 juli 1883) - Pelagie (° 25 januari 1885) - Silvie (° 23 februari 1888) - Alphonse (° 2 juni 1889). Alphonse is op 12 maart 1910 met het stoomschip Mauretania aangekomen op Ellis Island (New York). (Johan Vervenne alias johaver) .
